On Pins and…Oreos
Ever since discovering Pinterest, I’ve wasted more hours than I’d care to count, but at least I’ve wasted that time doing very productive things. You know, like decorating my multimillion dollar dream house, planning my future wedding, and giggling over witty Harry Potter posters.
But undoubtedly the best thing that’s come from my Pinterest obsession has been the unlimited access to a huge amount of food porn and recipe inspirations at my fingertips. I have an entire board dedicated to recipes I want to make, and this week I checked two of them off of my list. Happily, both of them included one of my favorite baking ingredients:
Oreos = <3
First up was Read It and Eat It’s Oreo Cream Cheese Brownies
There are no words to describe how perfectly these turned out. I’m talking so fudgy that one bite nearly seals your mouth shut perfect. And there is nothing more delicious than a cream cheese frosting swirl. Except giant chunks of Oreos thrown in to the fudgy brownie and cream cheese frosting swirl. Oh, heavens. Just make them, ok?
Next up were the No Bake Cookies and Cream bars from Sweet Pea’s Kitchen:
I know these don’t look pretty, but I promise they tasted a thousand times better than they appear. They’re basically Rice Krispies treats minus the Rice Krispies and plus Oreos. Think about it: where could you possibly go wrong with that combination?
If this doesn’t sufficiently justify my Pinterest addiction, I’m not sure what will.
Any other Pinterest junkies out there?
My addiction is getting out of control (as is the list of foods I need to make in the very near future).

errr I must be totally out of the loop! What’s pinterest?
Not at all! It’s essentially a site where people post pretty/funny/delicious things. Go check it out; it’s addicting!
I have a Pinterest account but for some reason I’m not as addicted as most people.
Anyways those Oreo baked goods look fabulous! Have you ever tried making homemade Oreos? They are the best!
Homemade Oreos? Stop it.
Tell me you have a recipe!
I’m totally addicted and use it as a “filing system” for all the things I want to try/buy/do, but then I realize that I’m spending so much time online looking at things that I’m not actually doing anything…then the Crazies wake up and I’m screwed. I’m getting nowhere…fast.
I could not have put it better myself, Rebecca. I’ve spent more hours on there in the last few months than I want to admit to. Oy.
I am so glad that you liked the no bake Oreo bars! I think they look fabulous. They are a bit too easy to make if you know what I mean!
Thank YOU for the recipe, Christina! They might not have looked as good as yours, but they tasted heavenly!
And yes, a bit too easy—hence, a LOT dangerous! ; )
