Any Pizza, Naan Pizza

August 17, 2011

Is it possible (or normal) to love a food?

If so, I love pizza. I love it all: thin crust, thick crust, deep dish crust. Whole wheat, white, whatever. Meat, cheese, veggies. Red sauce, white sauce, no sauce. It doesn’t matter. If it’s called pizza, I will eat it and I will like it.

But this pizza. Oh, this pizza was incredible.

Nick and I made one of our go-to dishes this weekend: chicken parm meatballs. We use Rachael Ray’s recipe as a base, and Nick takes liberty with spices, seasonings, and cheese. The result is always juicy, perfectly seasoned, and slightly cheesy—and the perfect addition to any pasta dish, sandwich, or pizza.

Tonight I took a piece of Trader Joe’s whole wheat Naan and topped it with sauce, leftover meatballs, sliced portobella mushrooms and spinach (sauteed in garlic), and feta cheese and baked it at 400* for about 5 minutes.

Doughy. Gooey. Cheesy.

Yeah. That’s love. Totally possible.

(Not so sure about normal).

PS. A huge shout out to Heather for her tips on using a point and shoot camera. These are the best food photos I’ve taken yet! Thanks, Heather!

(Oh, and she’s also hosting a giveaway for some delicious-looking homemade granola on her site. Go check it out!)
